errr... Coq au vin.
Today I had my first try cooking Coq au vin. Awesomelicious!
The recipe:
Ingredients
40g Bacon
20g Butter
250g Onions
250g Champignons
50g Cognac
1 Bay leaf
Thyme
Garlic
Flour
1/8l Broth
1/8l Red Wine
Baguette
Chicken (super important)
Preheat the oven to 225 °. Put the butter in the saucepan and fry the bacon till it's crispy. Lift the bacon with a slotted spoon out of the frying fat, drain it and set it aside. Wash the chicken, dry it and cut it into four parts.
Put it in the frying fat, joint it shortly, remove it and keep it warm. Pour the halved onions and the halved mushrooms into the frying fat and simmer it briefly. Take them out again and place the chicken back into the pot. Slightly heat the cognac into two portions (otherwise the flame is too high). Now light it and pour the burning over the chicken. (Damn that!!!! Take care of your kitchen) Shake the pan until the flame disappears...
Put the bay leaf, thyme and garlic slices in the gravy with flour and cook it a little.
For the sauce from the Coq au vin Pour put broth first and then add the red wine. Bacon onions, and mushrooms back to the coq au vin and cover the pot.
Roast it in a preheated oven at 225 ° for about 30 minutes on the medium level. Then remove the lid and cook the coq au vin a further 15 minutes.
NOW: FINALLY. Finished! =D
Exhausting recipe... But it's worth it!
